Is it okay to watch the movie first?

Or should your child most definitely read the book version first?

We have been asked these questions many times on KSP Book Club and here is what we feel about it.

Whether you are raising a reluctant or an ardent reader, the world of creativity and imagination it opens up when you turn the pages of the book is endless. As they say, you travel to places with the comfort of your book.

The only problem with watching the movie version first is that you lose out on this joy of imagining it all. But there is a case where the movie version helps.

For kids who are intimidated by the books, or the size of a book or for any reason- once they see the movie and the grandeur, they might just be inspired to pick up a copy and read it without you nagging them!
