Giving birth to a baby is as intimate as it gets and no matter what way you choose to bring a baby into the world, it has to be done with dignity and respect. The first few moments when a baby comes into the world is a special moment for parents and will be remembered for decades.
Justice, Dignity and Respect will be the focus in the Human Rights In Childbirth India Conference in February next year. The bond of a mother and child is extremely special and this conference looks to the optimise maternal and infant health. The conference will bring together health care professionals, lawyers and policy makers to help mothers and children get what they deserve and eliminate disrespect and abuse in maternity care.
Sessions that aim to give an overview of national and state maternal and child health policies, and the organisation of health care in India are planned. Eminent speakers such as Abhay Bang, Director SEARCH, Dr. Amali Lokugamage, Dr. Aparajita Gogoi, Dr. Armida Fernandez will be a part of the elite panel of speakers.
