Stand Up To Molestation By Arming Yourself With Self Defence Techniques, Say These Stars

The Bengaluru molestation that shook the nation sent shivers down my spine, as a mother/daughter/sister/wife and more importantly as a woman. If the nation that I want to raise my child in, is proving to be unsafe, it is high time, we took notice and put out foot down. And time and again, after such horrific incidents have surfaced, we have had celebrities come out and do their bit in expressing their disapproval and what they genuinely felt about such barbaric acts.

This Bengaluru incident has created a furore and starting from Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Anushka Sharma, we have had stars coming out telling us why we need to change as a society and give the perpetrators the punishment they deserve.

And the answer to face the challenge is for women to learn self-defence. Akshay Kumar who runs Women’s Self Defence Centre along with Aditya Thackeray, since 2014, has helped more than 15000 women and trains them free of cost!

Another star who is doing his part in empowering the women in the society is Vivek Oberoi, who is all set to introduce physical training and martial arts as a part of the curriculum of the school that he runs in Mathura. The school shelters and provides free education to over 2500 girls currently.
