In the cricket-crazy nation of ours, there have been many players who were awarded the status of legends and star players. But while stars have risen and fallen there are few that have stood the test of time. A cricketer who has a special place in a billion hearts is Sachin Tendulkar. His popularity has ensured that he is still in the news long after retiring from the game.
Recently he laid out plans to help underprivileged children who are passionate about cricket to play the game. In a bid to help economically underprivileged kids “live their passion”, the master blaster discussed his plans of unveiling a new range of cricketing gear.  Sachin reportedly said, “I exactly know how it feels when you don’t have enough money in your pocket and you want a particular bat. So it is about addressing the poorest of the children who aspire to play cricket”. He also revisited childhood memories and said he understood what it feels like when a child doesn’t have the money in his pocket for a long-desired bat.

Tendulkar will now be focussing on the need for economical help for these kids so that their concentration would remain on improving the game and learning techniques. Earlier this year when Prince Williams and the Duchess of Cambridge visited India, he joined them for a charity match with underprivileged kids.
 
Looks like if you have a dream and are passionate about playing cricket you need to look no further for a role model than Sachin Tendulkar!
