The Roger Federer Interview You Must Read To Your Child Today

In the beginning it was about proving yourself, trying to become someone, not a second someone, but becoming your own identity and a champion… Now it’s a deeper feeling of pleasure and respect I have for the occasion…Today things are more relaxed, but I know how much I’ve trained, how hard I’ve worked. I always wanted to win, but I was a bit too nice at times and I needed to toughen up a little bit and create an aura around myself, my personality and my game.

The Fedex’s Approach To The Game:
My approach to tennis has evolved over the years.

Competition At The Top Level:
I’m very competitive. I’ve always wanted to win… It didn’t matter if I played a fellow junior or then all of a sudden a Grand Slam champion or a world No 1, I always wanted to beat that other guy.

Of course I never forget about the tradition, the history, and the respect I have for the occasion, for the opponent. But you want to shine in that very moment, that never goes away.

Personal Attitude:
Attitude is something I really had to work on. I always wanted to win, but I was a bit too nice at times and I needed to toughen up a little bit and create an aura around myself, my personality and my game.
