What is WagTales?

Wag Tales is a company that intends to redefine storytelling from mere entertainment to an avenue for therapy and imagination-building in children and adults. Each workshop is designed to develop their motor skills, social skills, negotiation skills, resolving conflicts, resolving all that they receive as stimulus form the environment around them – through stories.

Wag Tales is run by Sheetal DeSa and Satish DeSa and they conduct workshops, immersive story sessions, puppet shows, clay work, drama and theatre. art sessions, therapy sessions for schools, daycare centres, libraries, corporates, brands, and at private schools.

Their aim is to give children alternatives to television, cartoons, malls and play gyms. Through storytelling, they want to impact on kids’ emotional, intellectual, and physical development – and this will allow parents to allow their children to be just themselves.

About their workshops:

They conduct workshops for kids from 2.5 years to 16-year-olds through their range of programmes and curated ideas. Here is why their workshops are popular among parents and kids:

  • They bring stories to life through puppet shows, dance and music sessions,  imagination-building workshops and creative writing workshops.
  • They conduct workshops for toddlers where they introduce music and fingerplay, through movement and rhyme.
  • They also have workshops that work on free-play (Zoorobics), make children confident and self-reliant (Magic in our hands), workshops for teenagers (ARTeen), doll making and storytelling workshops for parents.
  • This one is our favourite – they also conduct various outbound excursions amidst nature for kids and parents.
  • They perform at birthday parties – offering a package that includes an original tale written especially for the birthday child with their favourite things, friends and memories. They also print the story (with photos of the puppets) as a picture book that can be given away as return gifts.
