“Creativity knows no bounds” this is probably the first thought that will cross your mind when you see the abstract canvas paintings by 10 year-old Anushka Niara Mitter. Anushka suffers from Down Syndrome but she has not let this get in the way of living her life!
Anushka discovered her exceptional skill with art two years ago when her parents enrolled her for a painting class. Little did they know of their child’s hidden talent! Once she found a creative outlet for her talent, there was no stopping her. This year Point of View Gallery, Mumbai is showcasing her works of art in her first solo exhibition titled “Colours and Imagination by Niara“.
Not only is she showcasing her works in a solo exhibition, but there is more! The proceeds of the sale from the exhibition will be donated to Miriam, a friend of the artist and a child who also has Down’s Syndrome.
Usha Agarwal, founder of Point of View art gallery, says “Anushka’s works are a depiction of her deep feelings and imagination. At the tender age of ten, her works display a lot of maturity. She is definitely an inspiration for all!”
