Podcasting is the in thing today! How are Indians, and parents in particular opening to this fast-growing medium?
A few years ago, when I was walking my daughter to the bus stop, she asked me why school buses were yellow in colour. Believe it or not, I didn’t know the answer. I knew there had to be a platform where I could keep kids engaged by feeding in knowledge and facts they are going to love! Boom. I knew podcasting was the way to go because, in recent research, it was said that audio education actually engages children’s imaginations more than video. By letting children use their occipital lobes (visual imaging) to create images, rather than processing incoming visual information from a video—it literally helps unlock their minds.
And since then the journey in the podcasting world has been an exciting one. Have 2 exclusive podcasts on Kidsstoppress- I Am Not Bored for children and Kidsstoppress Podcasts for parents. Have also done Raising Parents with Jio Saavn and Parenting Zindagi with Red FM. Over the years I have learnt more through my successes and failures about podcasts and why it is the future- for brands and creators.
It was a delight to be a part of India Pod Day 2023 presented by Amazon Music and hosted by IVM Podcasts and Westland Books which was recently conducted in Mumbai. Was honoured to chair a panel discussion on the Future of Podcasting with elite panelists such as Dhruv Chitgodekar- Cofounder, Collective Artists Network, Advait Gupta- Cofounder & CEO, Kulfi Collective, Ranjeet Pratap Singh, CEO of Pratilipi, Ambesh Tiwari- Business Head, Pratilipi FM, Pratilipi Studio and Kavita Rajwade, Co-founder of IVM Podcasts, Pratilipi along with Amit Doshi, Head of IVM Podcasts, Pratilipi.
