Joint family systems were very much popular in India for a very long time. Joint families are extended families, typically consisting of three or more generations and their spouses, living together as a single household. Even though, in today’s time, this concept is slowly disappearing. But there are still some joint families out there.

- The feeling of togetherness.
On the other side
- Privacy is compromised
- Interference in parenting
- Financial responsibility
- Everyone participates in the smallest of decisions.
As I pointed out earlier, even the smallest of things are discussed by all. This sometimes gets in the way of parenting. With so many people to give their opinions, even the kids get confused sometimes as to, who should they obey. The different parenting styles also may cause a clash of perspectives and invite unwanted stress in the relationships.
Since I am raising my kids in a joint family system, here are 6 things I have realised that work best for me.
