It was a few years back. My daughter was a year and a half old and we decided to dine out for a change. And when we made reservations at our favourite place, the writing was literally on the wall! “You’re welcome- but please ensure your child does not cry or make loud noises. We ensure our guests a fine dining experience”, said the very politer manager. that got me thinking. 

Amidst the non-parenting community, wailing kids are seen as the biggest liability and eye-rolls and glares are a rite of passage. And among the parenting community, an outing to a public place with infants or toddlers is an occasion to be petrified, embarrassed, and what not?! 

Where are we making mistakes as parents? Are we a bad parent when the child cries loudly? No. Not at all.
