While I don’t believe in picking Birthday Themes based on the most popular film or character what is important is to pick what your kids love and enjoy. It could be a classic book, an experience or something or some place they love going to. The best part about Lego is thatyou can never outgrow it. So no matter what age this one is a classic. This year theme your child’s birthday to Lego Land. Get the younger ones to have their handprints and the older ones to draw on a canvas. This can get messy so we recommend to keep aprons and lots of clean towels handy. 3. Minions: With the movie coming out this year, this is a must try birthday theme. The little yellow creatures are everyone’s favourite. 4. Around the world/Travel/GlobeTrotters: Anything to do with travel be it a destination of your choice or the journey itself. Take a country and do everything fun and unique to that country. E.g. Britain would be London Eye, queen, tea party and scones. 5.Frozen: The movie has been a hit with the kids. And is perfect for a girl’s birthday. Read more here. 6. Candy Land: This will be an extremely sweet party. Make it colourful and full of candies, sweets and chocolates. Kids love Candy and you don’t need to restrict it to all junk. 7. Harry Potter: The series might be over but this is a fun theme party full of potions, experiments and magic! This one is my absolute favourite for older kids who actually enjoy the book. 12. Disney Party: Girls dress in your gowns and get ready to have a ball. Invite all your friends to dress up as their favourite princess! You can never run out of ideas for a Disney Party. 13. Alice In Wonderland: For my older one’s birthday this was the theme! And planning it was so much fun. It was easy and can be planned indoors as well. Read more here. 14. Beach Fun: This is one of my favourite themes for toddlers and preschoolers. Take them to the beach, create a Treasure Hunt and spread your home made goodies on a picnic mat. Carry some Frisbee, Beach Balls and your sand toys along. Thats all it takes! 15. Green Garden: This one is fast becoming popular with lots of planting, composting and learning about plants and growing your own Vegetable Patch. 16. Soccer Fun: The boys and girls absolutely love this one and it’s very easy to execute. 17. Music/Baby Jam: Its time to rock n roll!! Play the kids favourites or the current hit songs! Its going to be a musical evening. 18. Under the Sea: If your child loves Aerial or even Finding Nemo set the birthday theme that way. Add some sea animals, underwater weeds & the mermaids. 19. Garage Sale: This will work well with older kids. Set up the place like its a yard sale. and price things differently with fake coupons. 20. Dr. Seuss: Include all his books or choose your favourite! Based on the characters, create the theme and dont forget to invite The Cat in the Hat! 21. Race Car: Wave the green flag and let the celebration begin! Have cars cut out of cardboard, numbered badges for the racer and trophies on the table. 22. Farmyard/Old MacDonald: Who doesn’t know the Old Mcdonald song! A nice outdoor themed party where you can create various aspects of the party related to farm animals. 23. Junior Scientist: Maybe your child wants to grow up to be a scientist. Buy a couple of lab coats and safety goggles. You could set up stations of various easy experiments for the kids to try and keep the food simple. Or even create food related to the theme. This theme could be messy depending on the experiments. 24. Food Fun: Baking and Masterchef is not as cool as learning all about your food and using Fresh, Organic ingredients to create fun foods. Grow your own Pizza Patch, Make Pesto, Ginger lemonade, Strawberry Preserve and lots more. 25. Peppa Pig: If your child is of a younger age then you can go with this one. Probably get a few Peppa Pig movies for the kids to watch and a Peppa Pig piñata. 26. The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Preferably for the smaller ones.
