Divorce is not a western phenomenon anymore and Asian countries are also seeing parents go their separate ways for reasons best suited to them. What has progressed along with it is the ability of the parents to make it less stressful and ease their kids into the process. A divorce may leave the child feeling lost, confused & completely lonely .. needless to say a broken-home is an unhappy home for any child. However this video shared by a 9 year old boy makes you think otherwise.  Using stick figures and words, Azka Corbuzier traces his parents’ relationship, marriage and break-up.

Azka’s story is no different from any other child who goes thorough his parents divorce, no wonder the Indonesian boy’s YouTube video which has more than 900,000 views and 60,000 followers on Instagram already, has inspired children from across the world to come forward and share their stories. Most importantly Azka shows us divorce through the eyes of a child, something which can be so complicated to understand for a 9 year old.

Many commenters on his video have praised Azka’s maturity – as one said, “you have understood what it takes me years to come to terms with after my parents [broke up].

We at Kidsstoppress feel Azka’s parents have introduced divorce so smoothly to him, that he does not call it a ‘sad story’ at all. Even though they were separated, his dad continues to sleep close to him at night (protecting him from the zombies, as Azka mentions) , while his mom moved to another house next door and visits him daily, they still enjoy weekends together at a mall or go on a holiday together. Although no more a husband and a wife, to Azka they continued to remain his doting Mom and Dad. They continued to do things for him, to care for him, to love him and make him happy,Something they would do if they were together.

We feel Azka is blessed with wonderful parents, the best he could ever have, for even when they were separated they worked together to keep things easy on their child, they showed  him how even a broken home can be a happy home. And taught him to be happy even when things are not perfect.
