The weather has turned from warm to cold, and with that comes the sniffles, cough and a ton of other illnesses.
Getting sick is the worst with a dripping nose and throat aches, especially when you need to keep your family safe at this time. I decided to go with tried and tested remedies to soothe my sore throat. Natural ingredients, easily found at home can be brewed into concoctions that will definitely help that awful cold!
Building out immunity, steaming, keeping our lungs clear is super important and the best way to do it is to drink warm soothing drinks to keep the chill at bay. Immunity Booster Drink
Hot Toddy Tea
- 1 large cup hot Tea (green/Earl grey/desi chai patti)
- 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
- ½ Tsp curcumin powder/ Haldi
- 1 Tsp Honey/ Agave nectar/Brown sugar/Jaggery powder
- ½ Tsp ground Nutmeg
- 1 Tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ Tsp Cloves
- 1 Stick Ceylon Cinnamon Stick
- 1 Lemon Wedges for garnish
Method
To make your immunity nonalcoholic toddy tea to keep regular colds, coughs and throat infections at bay during this monsoon.
- Get all your ingredients – herbs and spices – in a large coffee cup or mason jar
- Add honey, or jaggery and lemon juice
- Then add the hot tea and stir well. Garnish it well with a lemon wedge and enjoy it with some relaxing music on a warm rug. Cheers.
