You must have read many articles, viewed many blogs, searched on google and all talk bout the importance of reading. Especially in today’s time! I’m sure even this article is one of the results of the search. But it is true. Reading is a skill that everyone should own! Moreover, it’s an important 21st-century skill. The one who reads will survive this new age.

Now, this is just general talk. What about kids? Does reading have the same impact on kids as on us, adults? No, Reading has a greater impact on kids. When they are small, their brains are capable of absorbing ten times more information than we can. And as we know, the information we have shapes our understanding and opinions about the world we live in.

But then again, kids aren’t the easiest when telling them something to do. Nor can we force them into it, because that will grow hatred towards reading. We don’t want that.

So how do we raise readers?

Baby steps. You can’t force kids to do anything(especially the Gen-Z!) How do you convince them to read then? Maybe by telling them the advantages of it… that’s a good start. Most importantly, by giving them age-appropriate books. (Can’t expect a 5-year-old to fall in love with the dictionary)

Are you confused? Don’t know which books are meant for your kid? Don’t worry! We’ve sorted that out for you too! With our age-wise curated book lists, this is one less thing you need to worry about. Just subscribe to our KSP Book Club and leave the rest to us!

Now, coming back, another way to start their reading journey is to give them time. Yes! time… to adapt to this new habit. Don’t expect your child to finish the Harry Potter series in one night! Let them start by reading for just 15-20 minutes. Yes, you read that right.
