Rakshabandhan is all about celebrating the love and affection between siblings. But when it comes to sibling love can sibling rivalry be far behind? Who can ever deny fighting with their siblings? If you have a brother or a sister you can definitely relate to every single one of these fights.

1. Who gets to hold the remote while watching television? It isn’t as much as the right to change the channel as just holding the remote control. After all whoever holds the controls has the most power right? 

2. Sharing the last piece of chocolate: Sharing? What is that? When it comes to the last piece of candy/chocolate/cake/pie in the fridge, it is every man for himself! 

3. Mummy loves me more: The eternal question. Who does mom/dad love more? Is it the first born or the last one? 

4. Who gets the first bite: The early bird? Nope! When it comes to the first serving, anything goes. Might is also always right! 

5. Fighting over objects: Ever uttered the phrase – “I am older and therefore I get it first.” Yes, we have all been there! 

6. Sharing of toys: We might share with the rest of the neighbourhood and display impeccable manners but when it comes to sharing at home, we would never do that! Each person needs to have his own. 

7. Physical violence : On the face of it, in front of people, you might look like the perfect siblings. But only you and your parents know the brutal fights that take place. Again this is an arena where anything goes.

8. Bathroom fights: Have you ever run to use the restroom and taken a few ‘extra’ minutes in there just so your sibling gets late? Yep been there, done that! 

9. Alarm clock woes: Has your elder brother/sister set the alarm clock in a valiant effort to wake up early to study and slept through the noise, knowing full well you will wake up and turn it off? If you haven’t, it is a good trick to try now!

10. Who gets the better side of the room: Ever had fights about the room you share? the cooler side. The cleaner side. The brighter side. The calmer side. And the most important one, the side with the most space.
