I always wondered if I am doing the right thing when it comes to my kids. We only focus on gender equality and empowering our children to speak up, but are we equipping with skills that help manage their emotions!
Today, we hear statistics that suggest that our children are in a devastating state! In the last 15 years, researchers have given us increasingly alarming statistics on a sharp and steady increase in childhood mental illness:
- 1 in 5 children are diagnosed with mental health problems.
- A 43% increase in ADHD has been noted
- 37% increase in adolescent depression
- 200% increase in suicide rate in children aged 10 to 14
