Let me give you a quick sustainability quiz. You need to segregate the following into dry and wet waste. Ready? Banana peel- wet waste, bottle- dry waste, vegetable peels- wet waste, cartons- dry waste. That’s right! You know this… but do your kids know this too?
Global warming, depletion of the Ozone layer, extreme climatic changes, air pollution, water pollution and shortage… I could go on and on… Is this the world we want to hand over to our kids? Obviously not! Then what can we do to turn this around? What values can we imbibe in our kids, so they don’t make the same mistakes we did? I have the answer to that- Sustainable living!
I think the world has realised that the conservation of nature and natural resources is the only way we can slow down the decay of the Earth. Today, the term “Eco-friendly” is widespread and considered important too!
Why Should We Live An Eco-friendly Life?
Well, because it is the need of the hour of course! But what is more required than that is to teach our kids about it. And for that, we need to introduce sustainability in our daily lives this very second! These baby steps could result in a better and brighter future for our kids and our beloved planet.
Thankfully, schools are putting a lot of focus on this topic. There is a lot of positive awareness about the same. However, how are we further pushing this into their way of life? Kids are always eager to learn, so how are we applying these teachings?
