As the monsoon looks on its way out, it seems like the perfect time to step out and soak in the sun and enjoy the pleasant weather in Delhi.

We have put together a list of parks around the city that you should visit with the kids and have some fun!

Children’s Park – The Children’s Park located next to the war memorial at India Gate has been spruced up with swings and other fun activities for children. One of the main attractions is the boating at India Gate. Kids and adults are both seen enjoying themselves.

Where: India Gate, New Delhi

Timings: 9.30 AM-7.30 PM in summer and till 5.30 PM in winter

Nehru Park

Nehru Park – Named after the first Prime Minister of India, this park is a favourite spot for school picnics. During the winter months on any given day, you are sure to find some schools bringing their kids to enjoy its beauty. Located in Chanakyapuri, it plays host to concerts and events around the year.

Where: Chanakyapuri, New Delhi

Timings: 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Lodhi Gardens – Located close to Khan Market and Safdarjung’s Tomb, the Lodhi Gardens gives you and your family a chance to laze around while soaking up some cultural heritage. Dotted with tombs and ruins, the Lodhi Gardens is a great option for everyone to enjoy a picnic lunch.

Where: Lodhi Road, New Delhi

Timings: 6.00 AM- 7.30 PM

Mahatma Gandhi Park – This park was originally called the ‘Company Bagh’. After Independence, it was renamed to Mahatma Gandhi Park. This park is open to public only on Sundays. Located in Chandni Chowk it is a quiet peaceful area to relax and enjoy your weekend, while your kids revel in the greenery.

Where: Chandni Chowk, New Delhi

Deer Park – As the name suggests, this place is home to animals like deer, rabbits, peacocks and ducks. Located in the busy Hauz Khas village, it’s a favourite amongst toddlers who love to feed the deer and rabbits. It also has a restaurant where you can sit and enjoy the view. Entry to the park is free.

Where: Hauz Khas, New Delhi

Timings: Summer timings are 5.00 AM -8.00 PM and winter timings are 5.30 AM -7.00 PM

Garden of Five Senses – Like the name suggests this garden stimulates all the five senses – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Covering over 20 acres, it’s not only a park but has a number of other recreational activities. It also has a restaurant and a small shopping area as well. It has an amphitheatre which houses art workshops too.

Where: Saket, New Delhi

Timings:9.00 AM -6.00 PM

Talkatora Gardens – Situated in the heart of Delhi this garden gets its name from the ‘taal’ or pond which is surrounded by a hill shaped like a ‘katora’ or a bowl. It’s close to the Talkatora Stadium. They organise some horticultural activities for children to nurture their interest in nature.

Where: President’s Estate, New Delhi

Timings: 5 AM – 11 PM

Sundar Nursery – Sunder Nursery located near the Humayun’s Tomb entrance in Nizamuddin has been opened to the public after years of being under renovation. It’s the ideal picnic spot for everyone. The lawn, lake and monuments are clean and well maintained and it is home to over 300 species of trees & 80 bird species which gives it the tag of the city’s first arboretum.

Where: Nizamuddin, Near Humayun’s Tomb

Timings: 9.00 AM – 4.00 PM
