Love posting photos of your children on Facebook but worry about who looks at it?
Facebook just may have something to allay those fears. The social network is developing a program that’ll send alerts to parents before they upload pictures with their children on them or when the photographs are about to be viewed by the public.
Facebook’s vice president of engineering, Jay Parikh announced, “If I were to upload a photo of my kids playing at the park and I accidentally had it shared with the public, this system could say: ‘Hey wait a minute, this is a photo of your kids, normally you post this to just your family members, are you sure you want to do this?'”
If you are wondering if you would be able to decode the privacy settings long enough to activate this feature, worry not. Facebook guarantees it will be simple enough. While we always think twice before sharing pictures of children on social media, this new feature might just be the step in the right direction for this hyper sharing world!
