Boredom Busters is the brainchild of 2 friends Sheetal Mehta & Pooja Parikh. When Pooja carried some recycled games at a restaurant to keep her 1.6 year old son busy, she realized that probably all moms are looking out for something to keep the kids busy at places like restaurants, airplanes, airports and the idea of a ‘busy bag’ was born. Pooja is an early years teacher and was teaching at a reputed international school before boredom busters was born. Work life balance has made these moms take a step towards entrepreneurship.
The games are primarily directed towards the toddlers to preschoolers between the age of 1.6 – 4 years and are your ready to go entertainment for kids. The games are not hard to replicate and are similar to a lot of Pinterest concept games but the price makes it worth a pick versus make. Some of the games have really simple concepts while some have pieces that are too tiny for toddlers and would not ideally be recommended even if it is played under adult supervision. Between my last meeting with Pooja and the revised games the quality has seen a huge leap and while it still needs a little more improvement it is nothing worth complaining about at the moment.
What we love about the games:
- Very easy to carry
- Teaches & reinforces simple concepts on colour, pattern, eye hand coordination, number and pattern skills.
- These are games that your toddler plays at his playschool and you always wish you could think of these at home to reinforce the concepts.
- Level of difficulty can always be raised as per the childs understanding of the concept.
