As parents living in India, it is unfortunate that we listen to almost daily stories of child abuse in our country. As statistics go, in 2014 India recorded almost 13,766 cases of child rape. Child abuse is the highest rated crime in our country. While those statistics are shock worthy, this is even worse. Almost half of these cases are not acknowledged. April is celebrated as a CSA Awareness Month and the country has various initiatives to help educate and inform parents on how to deal with children, NGO’s to reach out to in India for Child Sexual Abuse.

The aim of this group was to inspire its audience into sitting up and taking note of child abuse cases in India. With the help of story telling, Ashima aims to inspire individuals with moving stories which have been formed out of the love of performing arts.
Stories have a way of penetrating through an individuals’ soul and creating a space where they can connect with the heartbreaking instances. We have seen videos that address awareness of Child Sexual Abuse and can send shivers down any parents spine. It makes it imperative for parents to share about Good Touch and Bad Touch with the children and make sure they know that they can share it with someone and not guard it like a secret for the rest of their lives.
