Bookaroo– India’s first and most popular children’s fest made its debut in Mumbai this weekend- and we at Kidsstoppress were super excited to be a part of this fun fest! We told you all about their super success in their earlier editions and all the good things planned for this year’s edition! A great number of children and parents had lined up at Mount Litera School International in Bandra-Kurla Complex, and we were there too!

Here’s how much fun we had at the Bookaroo fest- in case you missed it this year- here’s what’s won the hearts of parents and kids this weekend! Take a look at these fun pics and videos and stay tuned for next year’s fun fest!

The little kids had a great fun listening to the stories at Kahaani Tree and drawing their favourite animals on the Doodle Wall. The fun storytelling session with Ajay Dasgupta- Khatti Meeth Kahaaniyaan had the kids from 4-6 years spellbound.

The highlight of Day 1 had to be the fun storytelling session that was filled with music, dance and lots more by John Dougherty- famous children’s author from UK- who has also written the recent picture book “There’s A Pig Up My Nose“. The kids loved the interactive session with the legend. Here are some fun moments from the session.

Day 1 also some fun moments for kids making creative crafts with clay under the supervision of Kavitha Mandana and a poetry writing workshop by Bijal Vachharajani.

Day 2 of the Bookaroo fest saw some fun sessions for kids that included craft workshops for kids of different age groups- each headed by Kavita Gupta Merchant, Priya Kurien, Glenda Fernandes and Surabhi Gupta. There were also more stories for the kids to listen to and enjoy at the Kahani Tree by Champa Saha, Shalini Tayal, Katie Bagli and John Dougherty.

It’s always fun to be with kids- especially the ones who simply love listening to stories. The sight of children and interested parents thronging the arena to take part in this fun fest just goes to show why these litfests- especially the curated ones for children are always important and loved! We can’t wait for the next year’s edition of Bookaroo Mount Litera School International!
