To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries. – A C Grayling, Financial Times (in a review of A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel)

Reading is perhaps the most important skill that a student needs for success. Students are required to do read material of varying degrees of difficulty and detail in their academic life. Fluency in reading will help them understand information and ideas accurately at an optimum speed. This interactive workshop aims to help students develop this reading skill through careful instruction and purposeful practice. However it is merely an introduction to the skills and techniques involved and a student needs to work diligently by him/herself for self-development.
