Book Review: 366 words Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore & Kolkatta

They publish content that helps moms showcase India as it is to our children vs. using international landscapes and nuances which sometimes are a distant reality for our kids. With pictures doing most of the talking its a boon for moms who want to take their children through a busy VT station( how many of us moms take the effort to take our kids to the VT station or to the Mount Mary fair or to historic places in Delhi)The book starts with a note to parents on how to use the book, a map and important facts about the city then taking you through the important landmarks that make up that city, a little more about a few other places and finally an activity sheet. It also gives me an opportunity as a mom to introduce my child to the other cities of India and take her through all those places of significance in that city.

Their latest collection of books is a pictorial representation of the 4 metros of India. It highlights the landmarks, history, places of worship, cuisines, maps and festivities of each city in great detail. I mean really where would you get a book for children that covers all of this? With pictures doing most of the talking its a boon for moms who want to take their children through a busy VT station( how many of us moms take the effort to take our kids to the VT station or to the Mount Mary fair or to historic places in Delhi)

The book starts with a note to parents on how to use the book, a map and important facts about the city then taking you through the important landmarks that make up that city, a little more about a few other places and finally an activity sheet.

There was definitely an update needed to those postcards we get outside the tourists places in the city and I think 366 words fills in the gap really well. It also gives me an opportunity as a mom to introduce my child to the other cities of India and take her through all those places of significance in that city. Really our kids need to know Mumbai is not India or more than Delhi is the capital of India. I absolutely love to showcase how Kolkatta has different foods and how Durga Pooja is a bigger festival there like Ganpati is in Mumbai. How Kolkatta has so many varied modes of transport that you get to see on the street.

Why we like it?

1. Great illustrations that help the child focus and remain interested.

2. Keeps the child interested

3. The different activities keep the child’s attention focused and help the child in retaining attention span for a longer period.

4. A great book for PICTURE TALK with your child about a place you’ve visited or of real life situations.

5. Vocabulary builder

6. Connects with real India

It also doubles up as a city tour guide for parents to use while traveling to the other cities of India. A lot of moms who have either just moved to India or are traveling to India for a holiday consider this as a must buy to travel with and a keepsake reminiscing of the times you spent in India .

Review: Must have in every school & child’s library. Priced at Rs 150 for each of the cities and Rs 600 for the entire collection.

Available: The books are now available at babyoye.com, flipkart.com , crossword.in and leading book stores across the country.
