Schools are closed for the summer for my kids. But they’ve both been given holiday homework. Things which are constructive and fun for them to learn over their holidays. So my son was learning about planets before the break and one of the activities for him was to make a project on the Solar System. His concept of size and distance are way off and I thought that making a solar system would be a great way to teach him about the planets. I always believe that visuals have a much higher recall value than verbal information.
You can explain all about Mars painted as the red planet, Saturn with its rings and the Earth with all the land and water in a fun and creative way. It’s also easier to make the kids understand about the orbit of the sun and the planets around.
