Fun time: Lemon & Spoon race

So this rainy Saturday, when there was actually not much to do. We played the lemon and spoon race and darn it was fun. I almost went back in time when I was in school and how it would just mean a lot of fun.

This is extremely easy to play & nothing you need to get from outside. We got our spoons and lemons and started to balance it. At first the daughter was a little confused on what she needed to do but after the first race she was pretty clear.

While doing this is easy and a lot of fun here is how it helps the children.

1. Follow instructions when you say ‘Get Set Go’, standing behind the line, touching the finishing line

2. Balancing. Try and give him a smaller lemon & a smaller spoon. If he cannot hold the full lemon then try cutting it into half so it balances well and he isn’t demotivated to start all over again each time.

3. Honesty: While you are in the race with him, he should be honest enough to start again each time he drops the lemon
