Now here is some awesome news for women on International Women’s Day!

ICICI bank has announced a new scheme called iWork@Home exclusively aimed at their female employees. With iWork@Home, the banking giant plans to retain those women who tend to quit work due to personal reasons or key life events like childcare, caring for parents etc. iWork@home uses technology to help women to work from home for an extended time period instead of quitting their jobs.

Women can work from home for upto a year with this technology. They will have access to their operating system from home. The bank has created a three-level security protocol to make sure that only the employee can access the system and even has a unique facial recognition programme to make sure bank records are not compromised.

“ICICI’s leadership in the space of gender parity speaks loud and clear with the number of women leaders the bank has sent out to the world,” said Saundarya Rajesh, founder of Avtar Career Creators & FLEXI Careers India. “This initiative comes in the domain of the concept of career enabler that says that if we can help women tide over domestic responsibilities we can see a 25% jump in the retention of women,” she said.
For women employees torn between home and work, ICICI bank gives them an option that doesn’t force them to choose.
