So we are doing everything we can or that we must do in the Summer Time and making home made ice cream is one of them. After all its 35 degrees and its hot and kids should feel like the holidays are here and vacations are all about having fun, unwinding and breaking routines.

We tried 2 great recipes and they both seemed to have worked wonderfully. So here are both of them:

1. Easy Home made ice cream: Boil the milk for about 3 – 5 minutes and add about 2 spoons sugar in 400 ml of milk. Keep stirring and switch off the gas. Add some drinking chocolate or strawberry crush or rose syrup when its warm. Taste the mixture for how sweet you would want to make it. Put the mixture in air tight container and put it in the deep freezer. Remove it after 2  hours and stir it with a hand mixture for about 3 – 5 minutes. Again pour the mixture in an air tight container and freeze for about 5 – 6 hours. You could also add vanilla essence for a simple vanilla flavour or mango juice for a mango flavour.

2. Blue Bird Ready Made Ice cream Mix: This one is just so easy and  a sure bet of setting fast so we tried this one too. We tried the ‘Very Strawberry’ and must I confess its delicious. The method is as simple as the first one and all you need to do is pour the contents of the pack into boiling milk and let its cool, freeze, stir and freeze again.

Both of them are extremely easy and you can serve it with fresh fruits and some cream on the side. With kid sthe presentation is what is really important so here are some quick ways you can do it:

1. With Ready Made ice cream cones. You get these ready made in the market and com eon moms even we prefer ice creams in the cone than the cup. The lick of th eice cream is what gets the temperatures lower than the ice cream right.

2. Add some wafer biscuits too. Depending on the flavour either choose  acontrast or a plain vanilla flavoured wafer biscuit. You can also use some sinful chocolate sticks to add to the sins.

3. Add fresh fruits and some cream

4. Stick an umbrella with a fruit to add to the drama.

Make it look just like a treat and see the smile go wide on your childs face. If you are wondering whether or not you should use a ready made ice cream mix then my answer is simple. All our moms didnt make the perfect Gulab Jamuns but they still attempted it with the Gitz packet Gulab Jamun and packed it with love right so as far as the child goes through the experience its all worth it. So for Rs 36 you have delicious and creamy home made ice cream

Please do try either of the two recipes and let us know how much your child enjoyed. For all those expert moms who can whip some cool ice creams please share your recipe so we can try them too 🙂
