If you follow me you know I subscribe to the Apple eco-system because of efficiency and safety. I use the Apple Macbook M3 with an 18-hour battery life and up to 60 per cent faster than the M1 model1. I also record podcasts so the sound and HD camera are extremely important. The four- and six-speaker sound systems with support for Spatial Audio in music or video with Dolby Atmos elevate your audio experiences across the board. The faster processor is a blessing if you have 20 tabs open on your computer like in your head.

Using shortcuts can be a complete game changer. Speed up your workflow by customizing keyboard shortcuts. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts and set up your preferred commands for frequently used actions. This can help you navigate your MacBook Air more efficiently and reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks. The ones I use frequently are

  • Cmd+ Shift and 3 for automatic screenshot
  • Cmd, shift and 4 for selected screenshot
  • CMD Q to quit an application
  • Cmd W to shut a window
  • Cmd + Ctrl + Space for the emoji keyboard

Organize your tasks by using the Multiple Desktops feature. This allows you to create separate virtual workspaces, each with its own set of apps and windows. For instance, keep your email and calendar on one desktop, while your project management tools and documents are on another. Simply swipe between desktops to switch tasks seamlessly without the clutter. This feature is incredibly useful for organizing your workflow, enhancing focus, and multi-tasking efficiently.

Create frequently used things as shortcuts like emails, addresses, replies, office addresses, and billing details. This will work across your Apple devices. I use this across my Apple devices that is my phone, iPad and Macbook Air M3. This feature allows quick access to essential functions with a simple click of your mouse.

Distractions can be productivity killers. The built-in Focus mode on your MacBook Air helps you stay on track by silencing notifications across all your Apple devices. Activate Focus mode by clicking the two bars in the top right corner of your screen and selecting the duration. This feature is particularly useful for deep work sessions or during No Meeting Days.

Each hack is a time saver & you’re going to wonder how I ever managed without these.

Tell me the hack you didn’t know or are going to try first!
