The other day when I went to the temple with my kids, it served as the perfect opportunity for my little one to bombard Momma with a tonne of questions.
Why does Ganesha love laddoos?
Why does Devi have so many hands?
Why does Vishnu sleep on a serpent?
I know the answers to some- the others I try to spin-off, but I accept it isn’t as easy as I had thought! At the same time, I don’t want their interests in mythology to fade away just because I don’t know the answers.
Just like how I grew up with an entire collection of Amar Chitra Katha series, I made sure I constantly upgraded their bookshelf with names from Sudha Murty, and Devdutt Pattanaik, among others to keep their interest in mythology alive- along with an undying interest in fiery dragons and flying brooms!
Mansi Zaveri, Founder & CEO of Kidsstoppress.com had a wonderful conversation with author Devdutt Pattanaik as a part of Season 3 of Kidsstoppress Podcasts. From talking about his passion towards mythology to the challenges in writing for kids, to understanding how the narratives change over the years- they discussed all of these and more!
Today on KSP Book Club we have narrowed down the best books of Devdutt Pattanaik written for the young readers. To give them a glimpse of the mythological world that continues to fantasize us, thousands of years later too! Tell us which one is your favourite!
