The power of books and reading is not new to moms and we all never underestimate it. We know all of you take a lot of effort and get the 20 minutes of reading in a day for your child. I am also sure that a lot of you also speak to your children in multiple languages as we are juts blessed to be born in a country like India which is a land of so many languages. To read in multiple languages do get your kids books in a lot of different languages. e.g. Hindi as it is our national language and widely used in most metros in India, your mother tongue that could be Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telegu, Malyalam, etc. A lot of Indian publications publish so many books each year in our local languages.

Benefits of reading local books?
1. A lot of books that we read to our children do not have the seasons of India, the Indian landscape, the Indian sensitivities, the food, Indian animals, landmarks of India, festivals or just relationships that are so critical to our upbringing. These books help us bring alive all those sensitivities which are children must be aware of.
