Tom Cat makes papa win over mama.

So I know I am the one who does everything and am the active parent, guess moms in India are. But I don’t have an IPhone that papa has and so I don’t have the cool fun apps which you can engage your kids with while watching TV. Ofcourse it also makes his phone more aspirational and I never have to worry that she wants to try and get my phone while I am away vs the husbands who always keeps asking me why does she keep touching my phone? No points for guessing this one.

So here is one of the app if you haven’t tried it already that makes the husband a preferred parent even if its temporarily 🙂 Just before I share details I am not averse to any gadgets ofcourse don’t propagate overuse but truly believe that these kids are techies and they will eventually consume so much of it that you may as well get them familiar right now. They are a great interactive way of teaching kids.

Talking Tom Cat is a cute app in which a cat will listen carefully to what you say before repeating it in a silly voice. There is absolutely no end to the range of possibilities and entertainment value. My daughter absolutely adores Talking Tom.

So what is Tom Cat all about?

Talking Tom Cat is a simple application that presents you with a friendly looking cartoon cat who is ready to listen carefully to anything you say. When you have finished he will repeat it back to you in a slightly silly voice. It’s not rocket science but it’s incredibly entertaining. He is mostly very attentive and usually captures most of what you say, responding immediately to when you start talking. If the kids pause while they talk Tom starts repeating so you miss the complete sentence.

Consequence: Kids can interact with Tom by stroking him, poking him, pouring him milk and getting him to perform a few other tricks understanding that every action has an equal & opposite reaction. To your surprise will be your kids vocab which you thought was not so elaborate but actually is. You will be taken aback with some of the words they use.

Fairly easy to use with great user interface.

What I love about Tom Cat:

• Cool graphics with great sound effects
• Ability to save and share Talking Tom Cat videos.
• Attentive and aids comprehension.
• Extra interactive behaviours: poke, stroke, grab his tail, pour milk for him, watch him scratch the screen!

What I don’t is that we can never get enough of Tom Cat and that its so easy for fathers to baby sit
