The world is changing as we know it today. The madness has everyone worried. As we try to keep our eco-system intact; and keep rainforests from being destroyed, it’s important to make sure the kids realize what is happening to their planet.

Earth Day is being celebrated on April 22nd. Teaching your kids the importance of Earth Day is the first step, as they will be our legacy and the caretakers of our planet in years to come. Explaining to them what Earth Day represents, and what you do as a family; not just one day, but every day can keep the environment free from further damage.

With everyone home – kids and families – Apple TV+ has launched the trailer for their upcoming animated Earth Day short film, “Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth.” Meryl Streep, Chris O’Dowd, Jacob Tremblay, and Ruth Negga lend their voices to this short film that’s based on Oliver Jeffers’ bestselling novel of the same name.  Oscar, AFI and British Academy (BAFTA) award-winning actor Meryl Streep and Oliver Jeffers are two icons in their own right and have come together to make this wonderful 36-minute short film.

    What Is It About?

This animated film is based on the #1 New York Times Bestseller and 2017’s #1 TIME Best Book of the Year by Oliver Jeffers, which has sold over 1 million copies to date. It follows a precocious 7-year-old who, over the course of Earth Day, learns about the wonders of the planet from his parents and from a mysterious exhibit at the aptly titled Museum of Everything. The insightful short film is narrated by Meryl Streep. The trailer reveals some wondrous animation, which is inspired by the illustrations in the book itself, that’ll keep your curiosity piqued.

It’s a great way to teach your kids about the planet, about the different people that exist on it and allow their imagination to run wild. You would need to probably answer a lot more questions, but then that’s ok right? Coz that’s exactly what makes kids what they are – their curiosity, their imagination and their love for learning more.

Watch this with your kids and go on this magical journey around the Earth with them!
