Create felt story boards and bring the characters to life. A fun way to retell the story and explore the characters. Children can touch and feel the creatures, move them around and make up their own stories.
2. Story Wheel

Story wheel is an interactive visual aid to help children retell their favourite story in its correct order.Draw or copy images of the characters or objects onto a circle in the correct order, as they appear in the story. Print a simple Gruffalo mask ocard stock so that its a bit stiffer. Have your children colour it. Punch holes on the either side and tie an elastic band. Your little Gruffalo is ready to scare everyone around!

Homemade story stones are a great addition to any playroom with endless possibilities of constructing a story using various characters. They’re great as story-telling prompts and for narrative play and very easy to make. They will surely give hours of entertainment to your kids retelling their favourite story through stones.

Mix up some homemade play dough by simply adding 2Â table spoons of cocoa powder to the recipe and you have your delicious smelling play dough ready. Provide your child with some googly eyes, pipe cleaners and pompoms and let them mould their favourite character out of it.

Print out Gruffalo  finger puppet characters on a cardstock paper and retell the story in fun and engaging way. The finger puppets are super easy, just cut out and add a little tape to the bottom to make a finger loop and you have a whole set of characters at your fingers ready for some imaginative play and creative story telling.

Headbands are a great tool to be your favorite character. Simply cut out a headband measuring the your child’s head. Cut out ears, horns, tusks and eyes. have your child paste them.
