Where is Prani?

It is situated about 37 km South of MG road, off the famous Art of Living Ashram on Kanakapura Road. It’s a 2-acre farm filled with pets rescued from differed parts of the country.

What's great about this place:

Prani the pet sanctuary, aims to bring youngsters closer to pet animals and nurture respect and appreciation towards other living beings. It’s a wonderful place where they offer a chance to touch and feel the pet animals with care, which is not quite possible in a zoo. This is nature's classroom we can say. I appreciated the enormous care being given to the rescued animals.

My son Vihu, 4 years old shows a lot of interest in pets and can't wait to play with them. So, I researched this place and planned to visit with my family. The current generation has no practical knowledge of how to interact with animals. So, I decided to take him to Prani to bond with nature and animals, the fun way. We reached there around 12 noon so we had a great lunch there at the nice tree house in Prani. Try their unlimited veg meals at just Rs 150!

Why I loved it as a parent:

  • Nature is the best classroom and Prani shows us why! Observational education is a better way of teaching. And I am glad to get into this place to educate my baby practically. And I believe a strong connection with animals and bonding with them helps us raise better kids.
  • The animal tour is a must. From amphibians to birds and mammals, the pet sanctuary has a wide array of animals. Everyone can touch, feed and see it from very close quarters. An amazing experience for kids, I must confess!
  • Prani helps children overcome their fears and realise their full potential as citizens.  Every pet has their own story to tell at the sanctuary as most of them have been exploited at various levels; some have even been rescued from deathbeds and are now living a good life at Prani.
  • The horse, a pony, an ostrich, rodents, parrots, geese, sheep, goats and turtles, and many more– every animal can bond with the visiting children. The animals are also given the best veterinary care.

Overall- I can't recommend this place enough if you are raising an animal lover and are looking for fun options for a getaway in Bengaluru with the kids.
