Most of us grew up on a healthy diet of Enid Blytons and Roald Dahls and remember our favourite characters being from those books. But today’s children have a virtual treasure trove of authors to choose from and characters to fall in love with. Wouldn’t you love it if your child’s favourite character was from a book developed, written, and illustrated right here in the country for children just like ours?
Dream Theatre, an entertainment company has collaborated with Harper Collins to produce a new range of story books for children called the Beebop series.
What is the Beebop Series?
The Beebop brand started out to celebrate early childhood years and produced a line of toys, sleep essentials and gift sets.
They have now entered the publishing market with HarperCollins. Aimed at children in the age group of 4-6 years, the Beebop series has simple, playful stories with lovable characters like Beebop, a bee and four friends — Sarah, Jay, Zoya, and Zubin — on fun, fantastical adventures. These children, who are also best friends, travel to make believe worlds, filled with fantasy and magic. Written by Annie Besant and illustrated by Shachi Kale these homegrown books are graded readers set for three levels with each level increasing in complexity to keep readers engaged and interested. Each book takes into account the level children are at in a particular age with difficulty of vocabulary, sentence length, comprehension abilities, literary elements, and subject matter. The Beebop series has four story books and each story book has an accompanying activity book that has colouring mazes, questions and objective thinking activities.
