Summer is here and we have the perfect activity for your little one when you are busy in the kitchen. As parents we are always looking for ideas that are  useful and productive. One such activity is vegetable stamping. Your children will not just work on their recognition, imagination skills, concentration  and language development but you will be able to use this art work as gift wrapping papers, wall decors, creative envelopes and cards. All you need are a few vegetables from your kitchen, paints and papers.
We love the idea of printing snails with onions. The rings of the onions give perfect spirals to a snail’s body. Just add a head and antennae and you have a beautiful sheet of snails that you can use as gift wrapping paper, or even as room decor.
Create your own tiny flower stamps using okra. The slippery and squishy texture of okra can help work on your child’s fine motor skills.
Kids don’t like broccoli but they would surely love to stamp with it and create a blossoming tree. A great spring activity to do with your toddlers. Dip broccoli in paints and create beautiful textures and prints. Make your own cherry blossom tree to frame!
Rainbow Fish is an all time classic children’s book. Do this activity and use it to read the book. Simply print out a fish on card stock paper. Slice pieces of celery. Dip them in your favorite coloured paints. Watch how celery stamps give perfect scales to the rainbow fish.
Teach your kids all about bugs with carrots! Slice the carrot into half and poke a few holes in it. This will give you lovely lady bug print. Help your child to draw details using a marker. Create your own bug world collage using these stamping ideas.
All you need to do is slice a potato into half and stamp panda’s face using white paint. Add in the details using black paint. Aren’t they cute? Make panda your mascot and use it to decorate envelopes, book covers…anything!
Slice the stem of celery to give you a perfect flower stamp. Use fabric paints and stamp on your aprons, totes and T-shirts to give them a personalized touch.
‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’ but not a rotten one. So if you have a rotten apple just slice it into half and get on a stamping spree. Apple stamps make perfect bugs and butterflies. Again use them to make a garden painting or even gift wrapping paper.
Lemons and oranges will give you some refreshing prints on paper. Perfect for when you are throwing a summer party! Use this as your decor theme. Will look super cool and refreshing!
Slice a bell pepper in half and create some lovely nature inspired prints. Again these will give you lovely flower prints to make your own garden painting.
Rolling corn dipped in paint is a classic exercise in textures. Use a canvas for this activity and get your child’s masterpiece framed.
