Recipe For This DIY Activity:

Here’s a super-fun D.I.Y. activity you should try with your kids! It is a perfectly safe and homemade recipe for kinetic sand that looks and feel exactly like the real thing!

What you’ll need:
1 cup baking soda,
1/2 cup sugar,
1/2 cup corn starch,
1 tbsp cream of tartar,
2-4 tbsp of water,
and some food colouring.

How to make it:
1. Step one is to mix the dry ingredients.
2. Then add food colouring to 1/4 cup of water.
3. Start adding 2 Tbsp of the water to the dry ingredients.
4. Add up to 4 Tbsp of water until you get the consistency you want
5. store in the refrigerator in a Ziploc bag.

…and that’s it, your kinetic sand is ready!

This is a taste-safe activity which means they can taste so you don’t have to panic if they get some in their mouth, but it’s not advisable to let them eat it. What are you waiting for, go ahead and try it with your kids right now!
