As a parent, I know making sure my kids stay active has always featured very high on my list of important things.
Studies have shown that children who are more active daily tend to act out less and have an easier time focusing on important tasks including schoolwork.
So when I came across this gym for kids during a recent holiday in Goa, I knew I had to check it out. I don’t live in Goa but I have nieces who do so that’s where we went. There is so much more to Goa than the beach!
What Is Jungle Cubs Gym
Jungle Cubs Gym in Goa was opened recently by Sheetal Fotedar, Aparna & Rishiket Mhatre in collaboration with the brand’s branch in Mumbai. When they moved to Goa with their families, they were looking for activities for their kids that would be fun and would help them learn new skills. Jungle Cubs Gym Goa was born out of that need. The organization aims to introduce kids to sports through pre-programmed courses which involve the child and allow them to learn while having fun! This isn’t like your regular sports activity class.

- Jungle Cubs Gym is a foundation of sports & Olympics, intended to increase physical endurance and self-confidence in children.
- Each curriculum is designed in such a way that kids can perform, show off their skills, learn to focus, and work on muscle and bone strengthening. Each activity that the child does irrespective of their age is aimed at helping them gain confidence.
- When I did a tour of the centre I saw that, whether yoga, gymnastics or hurdling over obstacles, the kids didn’t give up and the teachers kept motivating them to work hard to train their bodies to be able to play sports and be confident about it.
- What I liked was that the teacher-to-kids ratio is 15:2. They make sure the classes aren’t too big and that all the kids get enough attention and time with the teacher.
