[wpv-conditional if="('1' eq '1')"][/wpv-conditional]As someone who has been raised in the streets of Mylapore, I can tell you how the streets present themselves during the wonderful Margazhi days. Bracing the cool sea breeze and pampering its residents before the cruel sun strikes in March, the Mylapore Festival comes at an opportune time to celebrate the spirit of one of the oldest and iconic landmark areas of the city. About the Mylapore Festival:
This fest that is more than a decade old, celebrates the food, dance, folk arts, kolam, crafts and other wonderful things happening in and around the Sri Kapali temple.

More than 30 cultural events have been planned for these 4 days featuring around 200 artists from across the State. Music concerts by children in the park in the morning, food walks across the popular Mada streets, Kolam contests in the weekend, and traditional games like palankuzhi where the young and the old in the family can play together, are all a part of the plan.
There are other exclusive events for kids such as arts and crafts workshops, storytelling workshops and chess tournaments in the open park. The right time to bond with nature and make new friends!
