Like they always say after you become a parent you appreciate and respect your parents more. You also start appreciating and understanding all that your parents did a lot more than you ever did as a kid, teenager or adult.
I have got to admit all that melodrama my mom did about no late nights, no time for me, no calls all seem so real now. There are a few ads which have been truly special this year and here are my top 5.
1. The Idea mom & son ad: Every time my moms phone rings I miss it thinking I will call back and speak to her at leisure and that as we all know, never happens. So this one is just a gentle reminder

2. Parle G: Roko Mat Toko mat: I absolutely love the way this ad captures the small real life instances that we keep discouraging our kids from doing thinking its wrong, messy, not bookish. You know all those afternoons when they put you to sleep and slyly sneek out and upto some pranks. Those pranks though messy are great teachers.

3. Cadbury Bournvita: Achi aadatein. This one reminds me so much of me. I have never and will never teach the daughter to give up but to keep trying and be persistent in her efforts. Brilliant idea & execution!

4. Cadbury Gems: No Umar for favourite Colour. Well the ad I thought was strictly ok but what I love is the thought and especially the billboards with Gems on it. The amount of hours we have all spent while the kids pick their favourite colour will make you love it. Think about it when someone offered you Gems as well you always choose the colour, knowing that it all tastes the same.

5. IPL Jumping Jumping. This one was like an anthem of sorts that got the kids going crazy and I think most kids kept humming this all the while. It was an expression of being happy, free, excited, masti and just being kids.
