Who said that only Suri Cruise sports designer wear. Our little bubs are not far behind as a lot of Indian designers take on kids wear. I think I had read about this store sometime back earlier this year and failed to check it out as I wasn’t looking at something specific that time. However while I was passing around Bandra this time, I chanced on it again.
Founded by designers Dimple Kubadia & Meena Gandhi, OKA – Only Kids Allowed is every mothers dream, who wants their babies to be dressed in the best outfits, that are stylish and fun.
OKA is a store only for kids, to be more specific kids in the age group from 2 -12 years. Dimple Kubadia adds“I have designed outfits for both kids and women for a decade. I always wanted to open a store and I finally did,â€_x009d_ says a gleaming and proud owner of Oka. She continues, “In the market, designer clothing line for kids is quite limited. Hence this was the market I wanted to tap.â€_x009d_
Only Kids Allowed stocks Indian, party and casual wear for both, boys and girls designed by Dimple and also houses clothing line by different designers. They stock designs by Kidology that sells Gaurav Gupta, Gauri & Nainika, Malini Ramani, Namrata Joshipura, & Ritu Kumar Creations. Gupts range for boys include jackets & suits from Rs 8990 in plaid, stripes and silk along with extremely fun T-shirts to go with them
Gauri & Nainikas collection from Rs 1990 offers fairy tale dresses with bows, frills, ruffles & pleasts in georgette and satin, perfect for birthday parties. They also have silk jumpsuits, scarf tops from Rs 400. For Baby girls they have leotards and tutu skirts(dreaming of buying this to photography this weekend already) from Rs 2500 onwards.
They also have a dedicated rack for Indian wear from Rs 1650 i.e. everything from casual tunics, kurtis, gorgeous embroidered lehengas, and for the boys who are feeling left out some dhoti kurtas.
Shop for footwear, accessories, book ends & photo frames. They promise to refresh their collection every two weeks. I am actually excited to try the Gauri Nainika gowns, will they be as lovely with rosette details for these little fairies.:)
