In a city, where building play areas routinely give way to car parks, does not prove to be a great place to raise our kids. While we are all for outdoor play the city’s weather conditions( 3 months of harsh summer & monsoon) call out for indoor places too. I think what also creates a huge appetite for a new play space in each neighbourhood is the traffic in the city. Funville, the newest and coolest fun destination proves to be a boon for children and young teens in South Mumbai.
We dropped by at Funville last weekend to be greeted by Mrs Hina Jumani, a former banker and now a mother of two. Funville is spread over a little more than 2500 sq feet and has a toddler area (6 months to 3 years), juniors area (3 to 8 years). The gaming zone consists of Xbox & Wii and Table sports area with Air Hockey and Foosball for teens.
With a modest cafe that brews up Refreshments for moms and kids what sets Funville apart is the warmth that it exudes. Hina is happy to make it as convenient as possible for parents with special food orders and customized packages for Birthdays & playdates. Â If you a large group with a few hours advance notice Hina can make a whole feast available for you and the kids. Her Birthday party packages are extremely modest and she provides parents with end to end solution including decor, food & back presents. ( Love that!)Â The play space is clean and washrooms are well maintained with clean nappy changing stations for the toddlers.
In my conversation with Hina on why Funville, she chirpily mentioned that when she was expecting her second baby she found the city extremely difficult to entertain her older one with a big belly. She wished for a space where she could just get some me time while her kid played right in front of her eyes.
Funville also aims to conduct workshops for children and moms to learn new interesting skills at the various workshops at the, parents can enjoy their leisure time by reading books and magazines while sipping a cup of coffee. The Daddy’s can also engage in playing some table sports. For the internet savvy parents, Funville provides free Wi-Fi at the premises. Celebrations are sure to be remembered for a lifetime with birthday parties at Funville, in a fun and clean way.
Funville aims to fill a void for the kids residing in the neighbouring areas. It’s an amazing place to go spend time with your children at any hour of the day.
