Review: Kitab Khana

After browsing through a few adult section I reached straight to the kids, honestly it didn’t take too long though. Right across the kids section is a little cafe called Food for thought and they have delicious cupcakes & other treats on display.

I love the name and getting there wasn’t difficult either. I must confess I was expecting a lot more when I heard the name. As soon as you enter you can feel the colonial charm working on you with tall pillars, and wooden furniture and gold trimmings on it.  After browsing through a few adult section I reached straight to the kids, honestly it didn’t take too long though. The collection is restrictive and is just so perfect that it doesn’t seem like a kids section. The books are stacked in a not very child friendly manner and don’t know what it was but a strange cold vibe that haunted me all the while I was there. The do have a few good Indian books by Tulika, Tara & Pratham but the rest of the collection was very basic.

A few Nancy Drews, the ladybird series & a few hardbound books for infants. That’s all I can recollect after browsing through the section for 25 mins. There is a little rug cornered by 4 colourful lazy colourful bags that makes you so uncomfortable. I fell bloop on the floor when I tried sitting on it. Maybe its time for a refill of the beans.

There was absolutely no time for assistance until one girl approached me just when I was about to leave asking me if I needed assistance. I did ask her for a few titles and she looked at me and then looked into space and refused.

Right across the kids section is a little cafe called Food for thought and they have delicious cupcakes & other treats on display. As a mom I’m not sure how hazardous is it to my peace of mind to take my daughter there. Until that piece of cake is down her throat no reading will happen for sure.

I am not sure if you would make a special trip there but if you are in the vicinity you could pay a visit. I would actually recommend it to the moms & dads incase they wanna catch up with each other and spend time in the cafe.

Review: If you are in the vicinity
