Always running behind your schedule? Yes, time management is key when you are an entrepreneur, especially when you are working from home and raising babies and businesses. But are you sure you can organise your time well and be on top of your game every day? We often feel the burnout at the end of the day. The worse part is, you thought you worked a long day but the list of things to do remains elusive even at the end of the day. So how do we fix that?
One common mistake everyone makes is that we just pen down things. Here's why it never works.
- When you make a simple list you are just putting them down in no specific order and not taking into consideration the other factors that determine your day. So in essence you feel you are multitasking but the truth is you are only shifting your focus from one task to another leaving behind incomplete tasks.
This has happened many times with me too. Especially when we work from a remote location and rely on messages and emails to communicate within the team, this is a trade-off most of us settle for.
And then I started blocking my time, planning well ahead how much each task would need. I would be ruthless in allocating the time and not let any "buffer" or overflow time compensate for the lag.
This might sound difficult initially, but trust me, once I and the team got this to action- we have never felt more productive at the end of the day.
