Its not like a thought that hasn’t occurred to me, you or anyone of us before. Ofcourse it has. It clearly doesn’t take an Aamir Khan to wake us up and smell the coffee. There is enough being spoken about the subject and I will not reiterate all of that again. But what I would like to reemphasize on is the importance to awaken the system. As an expectant mother who is half way through her journey its so exciting to just feel those moves, the flutters see my baby grow that I wonder how would it matter if it was a girl or a boy. I remember in my last sonography all I asked the sonologist was is it a normal and healthy baby with everything just right. The anxiety of just having a healthy baby is so strong that nothing else matters to me at this point in time.
As a mother I wonder really would I love my daughter any more if she was a boy I don’t think so. Just everything that she does lightens our day and how different would it be. 3.5 years down the line I don’t know if I wonder why would people ever want to abort a girl child or for that matter any child or ill treat a girl child or deprive of her any of her fundamental rights. But the fact is they do. You or me can keep wondering but that doesn’t help.
Its great that  a celebrity is not only highlight the issue but also do a follow up on the issue. will it make difference, we dont know until we try. So lets do all that we can to generate maximum support to this cause for someone who is actually taking this initiative forward.
