As per the National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India (ADSI) report, over 13,000 students died in 2021 in India which comes to 35 deaths every day. This is a 4.5 % rise from the 12,526 deaths in 2020. Out of these 864 out of 10,732 suicides were due to “failure in examination.” 

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says that kids between 10-19 years old comprise 13% of the global burden of mental health disease.

While media influence and gender disparity play crucial roles, other risk factors are peer pressure, and academic expectations from parents. Many teens suffer in silence, masking their emotional challenges. In a rapidly changing world, the mental well-being of our teenagers is facing an unprecedented challenge. The pressures that today’s adolescents confront are diverse and intense, often leading to a concerning rise in mental health issues.
