This famous library, in the heart of Chennai at Kotturpuram, was inaugurated for public use in 2010 houses around 6 lakh books! Sprawling over a wide area of 8 acres, the Anna Centenary Library has 8 floors stacked with the best from the books world. With separate sections for children’s books, magazines and even braille- there is everything that an avid reader would want in this library.
Exclusive Children’s Section:
If you are visiting this place with the kids, head straight to the first floor for the exclusive Children’s section. Touted as a book lover’s paradise, this place has the best of children’s books on alphabet, numbers, encyclopaedias and books in regional and International languages as well!

There is a special reading area for the kids inside the Children’s section that will inspire your bookworms to grab a book or two and read quietly! Who said libraries are all about just being quiet and reading endless books? This section also houses an exclusive activity area for encouraging children to read with storytelling, puppet shows, etc.. What’s better? If you are just looking for some quiet time to read your own books or work on your laptop, head straight to the ground floor, where you can get some quiet surrounding to do all this. The best news? You can access all of this for FREE! Yes, spend some useful time accessing a world of books, all for free. (The library doesn’t lend books at present)
