Sometimes, a small deed goes a long way. When Kirsten Johnson, a mother who is popular in Facebook and Youtube as Unstoppable Mother, uploaded a video on how to tie a shoe lace, the easiest way, she didn’t expect this response.
The initial response was typical of social media- negative and scathing. People criticized her saying the method was already widely known and it takes a long time if the lace was to be tied this way. Moms of school children, who are in a hurry to rush to school, did not find the video great.
But things took a turn, when a mothers of children, with autism tried the method and found that this actually worked!
“I tried this with my 11 yr old (who has autism) I’ve never been able to teach him. THIS WORKED!!!!!â€_x009d_ one parent wrote. “My son is 14 and has autism so he has so much trouble using his fingers. This will be easy for him,â€_x009d_ was another comment.
For children with autism, developing their motor skills is an arduous task and requires a lot of patience and efforts from the parents’ side. When this simple video surfaced about how you can teach your li’l ones to tie their shoe lace in the easiest manner, it surely did light up the lives of many parents!
