When my child turned one, amidst the slew of  gifts and good wishes, some parents walked up to me and said, “Now, the hunt begins!” I didn’t understand and then a few months later, it hit me! Though formal schooling starts only at 3, the all important playschool exposure – the foundation for all learning begins earlier on. I wanted to have that. In a buzzing city like Mumbai, every second street has a play school, leaving it almost impossible for parents to decide what to pick. Fret not, we at KSP are here to help! What is Koco Kids?
Started by the husband-wife duo Akshat and Shrishti Gupta, Koco Kids is an all new play school in Mumbai which draws inspiration from international brands like The Little Red House School and Columbia Grammar in New York and other preschools in Australia and New Zealand.  The early years of a child’s life are very critical as most development happens during this golden phase. During this time, their development revolves mainly around motor, cognitive, social and creative skills. The curriculum in Koco Kids is carefully designed with this as their core concept.
How Is Koco Kids Different?
A lot of preschools start their kids early on with letter recognition and writing. But Koco Kids does things a little differently. Learning happens here through creativity and logic. They pay keen attention to the psychology of the child’s mind and allow them to develop these skills in a fun and interesting way. Unlike most other conventional schools, Koco Kids believes in sticking to what is best for children from an educational stand point rather than giving in to the unreasonable pressures that the society puts on little children. Apart from the activities and concept, the preschool is also designed with painstaking precision where every wall, every colour, every toy and every book is handpicked to match the vision.
Age Group
The pre-school is open for kids from 10 months to 3.5 years while the play area permits kids from 6 months to 10 years.

Toddler Program: 9.30 am-11.30 am,  11:00 am-1 pm
Playgroup and Nursery: 9.30 am-12.30 pm,  11 am – 2 pm
Admission Procedure
This year will be the school’s first batch, so go on in and book your seat! Admissions are now open for June 2017 across 2 batches – 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Fee Structure
The fee ranges from Rs 1,00,000 – Rs 1,50,000 annually for Preschool.
What KSP thought of Koco Kids
- The play area was clean, neat and massive! Â As a parent, I was impressed right at the outset,
- The outdoor terrace play area is a unique addition. It has fun things like a sand pit, water pool, an amazing trees house and some other play equipment
- The little cafeteria was our favourite spot. What was even better was their nutritional menu. The cafeteria offers very healthy and nourishing options for kids like flavoured makhanas, dry fruits bowl, etc.
- The faculty was warm and excellent and that gave us a positive vibe, right away.
- 8-10 kids in a class, is the plan here. That throws importance on the individual attention the kids are likely to receive.
- The curriculum is developed keeping in that kids do not need to be a part of the rat race. Learning should be fun and the curriculum is designed with that as key.
- The interiors are vibrant and catchy. A Toyland for activities, Rainbow room for art and craft, La La Land for Music and dance are features specific to Koco Kids.
- With an ICSE school in Malad West, the trustees have their foot firm in the field of education.
What We Would Like To See
- The school at present has toddler, preschool and nursery programs. But, a specially designed day care might be a boon for working parents as well.
- With so many preschools talking about their focus on world renowned methods like Waldorf, Montessori etc, we would like to see how parents take to this school.
